Greetings from Mountaintop Retreat!
Change is a hard thing for many of us to accept but in order to grow as children of God, sometimes there needs to be change. Here at Mountaintop Retreat, there have been many changes over the last several years. These changes have been important, and we have embraced them with God’s help. Thank you to all of you who have come along side us as we move into new areas of ministry. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated!
Once again, we are looking at some big changes this year. These changes will allow us to embrace new ministries and better serve our community. State regulations are making it very hard on camps, from staffing to licensing. We experienced many of those difficulties during last June’s camps, ultimately resulting in Mountaintop Retreat being shut down for two weeks and a revocation of our license to have camps longer than 72 hours. For reasons similar to these, as well as fewer constraints on volunteer staff, summer Camps around the region are going to three-day camps.
Three-day camps open the door for younger children, ages 6-8 to attend a Kids Camp program so they can experience an overnight stay at camp. It also allows for a Leadership Camp, facilitating training and skill building to help develop future church and ministry leaders. This format also gives the amazing staff and volunteers more flexibility as they take time out of their busy schedules, allowing them to choose which camps work best for them. This year, Mountaintop Retreat will not have our own youth camp program. Instead, Hands and Feet Ministries will be using our facility to host five exciting camps in June. Please, visit their website at https://handsfeetministrie.wixsite.com/handsandfeet/camps to sign up for their summer camps and support them in their ministry. Thank you and God bless you!
